since results of the measurement is far that from the simulation. the current one is cut. my supervisor assigned me to continue the work that last year guy unfinished...
i tried the special coffee of the lunar new year by pacific coffee. it's not big special (latte plus double expresso with nuts), but a shape of its logo is on the bubble....

IELTS
i wasted over $300 to buy a book to train me before the exam because school's free copies are all underlined by others. Is it worth? ok, but not for $300...
i woke up before 6am, then arrived at kowloon bay at near 8am. the signal for the shuttle bus to the venue is not very good. i needed to ask the security/information desk for several times. but the bus came quickly. it is owned by sun bus, a kmb company. i checked in and waited until 8:50 outside the exam room. at 9, the exam started.
1st was listening test. it is easy. but i heard someone couldn't follow after the exam finished. then is reading. luckily i recently read some books (agatha christie's poirot series) to improve my reading skills, so my speed was not slow and i finished it 15 minutes earlier than allowed. i found the one on my right hand side used a lot of time to underline which is the method for a-level. and i assure that that is not useful here. you should read whole message and get a main idea 1st. writing is the last one before lunch break. my vocabularies is still a weak point so that task one's mark should not be so high. i think task 2 is better. the topic is about universities should prepare students for empolyment. and we need to write 2 sides of view, and my own view.
i went back cityu for lunch because i had 3 hours before the speaking test. i took with the phd student and he told me secrets of people (including himself), tricks for fyp and seeking jobs.
i came back at 3 and i got the exam earlier because the one who should exam in front of me is absent. the examiner is called charles. i found from the mark sheet that everybody sucks at task 2 which is explaining the idea from the topic of the card. i suck too. only grade 6 is given. the topic is choosing newspaper or magazines for the favourite, explaining with reasons, which parts you study most, what kinds of people would read... i spoke about 1'30". last part is grade 7, is interaction about the topic between me and him. i couldn't see the mark of the 1st part, interaction about myself, but i think around 6 or 7 is given as i saw those previous marks...

last entertainment for the last semseter break
we song lunch karaoke together. there are six friends toally: ball, me, tony, jimmy, martin & his girlfriend joy lam.
then ball and joy bought the same mobile phone, nokia 3200 for their own. both lost their phone recently and one of the service providers provided refunds if they use the service and buy the phone there. the refund is $700.
then we played some electronic games at a games station nearby. i won twice at motor racing but sucks at typing of the dead.
then we were shopping at bossini again. joy, tony, & ball (again) bought somethings. and ball bought a bag at a small shop...

CRE
sucks.
jimmy, ball & i went together at kwai fong. but i nearly came late. not good traffic here. when i got on the bus to kwai hing, the crapped minibus which went to kwai fong directly appeared. shit. there are other people i know, like cs angie, ee victor, someone used to tudy self studying room with us at secndary...
attitude: ok; use of chinese: bad, even our chinese expert said hard; use of english: not so good, it's a bit like a-level
after exam, ball and me went to kwai fong and we were shopping in bossini. he bought some & i bought a belt. then we went to starbucks. we saw joanne and joy lam outside waiting minibus. tthey didn't discover us and we phoned them as ball for joy & i for joanne. :-) before left, we discussed about the 1st few years after graduation, we agree it's hard to have some savings at that period. many need to be paid.
btw, ball and i think love actually's song, christmas is all around, rocks. :->
2 tv shows recommened on sat: rthk's 女人多自在2, the US's queer eye for straight guy

two little things
finally make a workable antenna (not simulation, is real!!!), but not very good indeed. whatsoever i hope this small step is really useful for the future.
the grade is out. it's ok. but others are even better... i think i'm really not the kind of the person to study engineering. or i often perform poor in the examinations... i should study arts or biology or even computer science that i can get a better result. however the hk education system can't help you to show the right way to study because of exams, exams, and exams!!! those exams are just using your small memory (you can imagine only 10% of brain are really used throughout the life and you should figure out how many are for the memory) only.

last photo taking
there are so many people appeared this time, like 7wing, miss tsang, elder brother and two policemen.
actually we only take photos at few spots as nearly all of us are tired because of work (how can france allow so few working hours - 35? only chinese/japanese work so long).
then we went to causeway ceo neway to sing karaoke. the price is reasonable. the room includes separate toilet and RF mics. but those mics suck, either poor connection or the sound is bad...
our dinner is Xiaonanguo Imperial House. it is a shanghaiese restaurant suggested by ball but he didn't eat with us! there is a smell of vinegar and the food is too salty for hong konger. but it's not bad acutally. the price is not expensive.
i think we guys will not meet each other for a period of time. everyone is busy on own things, work, study...

love actually
a movie even better than the lord of the rings 3. no boring scenes. in this movie you can find not only love between men and women, also brother and sister... the movie actaully concentrates on a place, "the street". all are living on the same street
luckily we can see the film before it is put into discs. the stories of the film is excellent, the stars too. not just only english actors, also american. elisha cuthbert, "kim bauer" in 24 also acts. but not all people should see it
recommend (from nearly must to should): wants to show the love to the one doesn't know; couples; loves british comedy
not recommend: just be alone; alone for a long time; doesn't like dirty language & scenes
where we saw is olympian city's broadway. the seat is comfortable and the sight is not blocked by the front. very good.
tomorrow is the last photo taking of university graduations: hku!

just like last year, we went to tuen mun bbq site to celebrate. but this year we had fewer people, some needs to work in mainland, some need to celebrate with their girlfriends alone. totally there are 12 + 1 people joined.
btw i need to say sorry to someone, making him unhappy.

day of bad luck
life has highs & lows, but everyone wants no lows appeared
today quite sucks. 1st i went to mongkok to take new glasses. on the street, i stepped on a gum... then the shop said that the glasses doesn't come yet...
then went back to school to do the fyp. 1st i still don't use which slide should be used (shame)... then technician said time's up... but the worst thing was mixing the identity card... why? the card is used for the log-in card of the lab

macau trip
one sentence for macau: a china town with little portuguese feeling & it's fading, even faster to become normal china town than hong kong...
we left hong kong yesterday around noon. the ship is fast. it can run 60km range only in 1 hour . but the immgration is so slow in macau side. & this feeling cannot leave our mind in macau nearly. this may be the slow living style of portuguese & mainland chinese. then we went to the hotel (hotel royal) to check in. it said it is a five-star class but we think it is not repainted after it opened. then we went to 大三巴. this is a miracle of the god. it used to be a church. after three fires, only the front not burnt & it becomes the symbol of macau. then we ate lunch (actually tea, but size of lunch) at a restaurant on 大街. the restaurant cooked much better than hong kong's. no msg is added. the owner gave a lot of name cards to us and she wanted us to promote her shop. then we visited 新馬路, 十月初五街 (nothing so special) and then casino lisboa. we won the backgammon and lost some at the 老虎機. but we still won some. dinner was at a "portuguese" restaurant at old town of 氹仔. it's not very portuguese actually. only one or two dishes are special.
we took a free breakfast buffet at hotel in the next day morning. then we went to the motorsport & the wine museums. the museums can only accept macau pataca... and all staff are portuguese. they know only little cantonese/chinese. the motorsport museum is small but still has some good things. we got a free drink in the wine museum per adult. so we had red wine, white wine & rose wine. white one was the best, having more fruit taste and less liquor. then we went to 新馬路 again and sat inside a starbucks at 議事亭前地 after the lunch in a small restaurant. we sat there for over two hours lazily and bought the gifts. mon then said we went to a thai restaurant for our dinner. and we walked thru 筷子基, then we ate at 黑沙環. dad said 筷子基 changed a lot after he came to macau before stayed in hong kong about 2x years. after the dinner, we went to the fier and took a early ship back to hong kong

days before x'mas
merry x'mas to everyone
last sat: watched lord of the rings 3. i think it should be the winner of coming oscars. the worst is the last part, used too long time to tell the human age. btw anyone wanna see love actually?
sun: went to lego show. the fans made a big city by their own - it think the price of those lego is at least around HK$10,000 . the official sucks a bit, the main attraction is by the fans. they only sell some japanese made lego cutie stuff. i bought one, it is a key chain, costs me HK$40...
mon: back to school but only do very few things on fyp. asked a phd student about the elective selection. he suggested me not to take rf subject but i am now doing rf fyp!!! however rf subjects are not easy and one of the teachers always make mistakes on his exam papers... i really need to think which subjects i should take.
tue: mainland factories trip leaded by school chair professors. 3 factories were visited. 1st is LED display "COTCO" owned by GP group. the factory build LED for traffic lights, display boards... they owned one in seattle with over million LEDs. and they can fulfill the requirement of color by IBM and coca-cola!!! hk company is not weak. 2nd is wire factory. it builds every types of low frequency electric wires, from computer cables to UTP, STP. even sony uses their lines for their TV, PS2. 3rd and the last is ZTE, country owned communication factory. over 17000 staff with 75% of them owning at least bachelor degree. over 500 owing phd. they made from hand phones to base stations to soft switch... their products can compete with those big names.

exam finished
exam is finished, good!
before exam, fever nearly kicked me. but lucky it's over. and i applied the intern engineering of cathay pacific. any chance? i really don't know. and during revision period, my dvd-rom & cd-rw drive are down...
1st subject is enginerring in society. one word for it, remember.
2nd subject is lan. that's funny, because the lecturer gave an extra 'lecture' just the night before the exam, and the questions in the tutorials and in this lecture are exactly the same as the exam. he even told us the keywords which will be asked in the exam. another subject requested the memory.
3rd is wireless communication. my supervisor's part is quite ok even i only got 24 marks in the test. but another part is not so good. cheap lecturer, he cheated us. we (even our top guys) replyed on his hints because his poor teaching.
last is microwave techique. his hints and the hand written paper allowed did help. but the level is a bit harder than last year. many including me didn't finish the whole paper...
today 1st installed a new cd-rw drive. then i got my passport. it's wasting time. the effiency is so slow. our government should not cut the budget... finally get some chinese medicine to make me fully recovered from fever.
i'm writing the application form of icac. haha, trial & trial
i have bought the fourth agatha christie's book, and it's the 1st poirot book, "the mysterious affair at styles". and this is the 1st time i bought thru online, yesasia.com. it's fast & the price is just the same as bookshops. i bought theu online because i cannot find any copies of that editon in bookshops. But one thing you need to remember, please use your id card name in the mailing address, otherwise you will have a bit of trouble! that's my case. because i weren't in home, i need to take it @ post office but i used my 'nick' name for the posting address...
tommorrow i'm gonna watch lord of the ring 3 even i haven't seen others before. how about µL¶¡¹D3? no one wants to watch with me
next tuesday from 7:30am to 7:30pm i'm gonna join the trip arranged by microwave techique's lecturer to visit three companies in mainland. let's see how strong they are...

another photographing
today was another set of photographing. turtle, ray & 肥阮 were the key guys.
美亞only has very few dolls for us to choose, so we selected the one same as chris. sorry for that.
we took 63m to lingnan uni at around 12:4xpm. it is surrounded by high buildings (cityu is gonna like that). the budget is really lso ittle? maintenance is still working but some small lakes(pools) are not filled. we wasted a lot of time on eating at school restaurant. so we took not many photos then we went to bu. and we took few there and disband.
the next and last stop is gonnabe hku, should after the exam...
ball is thinking a camp on new year. will it happen?

graduation day
today is the graduation day for all science & engineering students in my school (including jimmy, next year i will be), but is a bad day for me
i lost my pencil bag, which contains a calculator (over HK$1xx), some newly bought rubber, correction ink, pen... i also lost some fresh white paper at lab together. i thought there is a thief there...
dicky said the good day will come. i hope so, because the test of the course by my supervisor will be taken on Sun. i will miss my favourite macau gala motor race... btw, i will see him tomorrow to change my fyp project as he said last time.

it's a bit odd when joanne's boyfreind has come. we don't even spell his name!!! & he's a bit... i don't know how to say.
in my university, i even met a assocaite degree graduate (which i used to take that degree). she's a bit unlucky, some illness made her the graduation delay...
comparing three universities, mine is the smallest. but it's most comfortable (small & air-cond). even the toilets are the newest & cleanest... hahaha
we found out that maxim's has different strategies in different universities. in mine, it's a part of the canteen; in ust, it's a restaurant!
p.s. i forgot to put my student id card back to my wallet. so i can't login to library today...
i love dido's new album more. really need a long time to feel it. really don't know why hk singers can make so many albums/EP in a short time

fyp
today i just talked with my supervisor and he said what i'm doing now won't be any breakthough in technology. and i could only get pass if i still focus on it. he said i just improve the result and he will deliver another project so i can get higher marks. omg, what i have done is wasting my time???
i'm gonna busy from next week, tests, assignments, lab reports... until exam. no public holiday is at that period... the road is not easy...
the big four, agatha christine's book, is very hard to read compared with 'cat among the pigeons'. previously i saw bbc site saying that her per-WWII books are better post ones. i really believe that. poirot only appeared in 'cat' at late stage and did little. but in 'big four', he is the centre of the story, nearly every chapter has an investigation. and the words are much more difficult for me to read...

yestreday night we went to the ocean park where it has a halloween party. there are tons of people. we have been in 2 ghost houses but they are so scary or big. a bit of disappointment. but we played mine rail which is goood although we have lined up for about 2 hours and missed ferris wheel and raging river...
after leaving ocean park, we went back to tsingyi to eat. btw the taxi driver packing us to hk station asked everythings from ocean park to mtr. he even didn't know what is the different between airport express and tung chung line.
thx everyone for the present. i really love them.

birthday
today is my birthday. thx everyone.
monday celebrated with university friends among 2 other whose birthday is on 22nd. my gift is a side bag.
maybe brithday gives me luck, thrusday a phd candidate helped my fyp project. finally i can realize what i'm doing. & supervisor didn't challege me.
i have finished the book: the french mistress was killed because she knew the 1st kill and wanted to raise some money from killer. poirot knew the princess in the school was fake. julia's mother's back and pointed out the killer. the killer wanted to kill her but miss chaddy got the bullet. the killer's head's secretary and she was a spy at wartime. she wanted the jewels. but she's not responsible to the 2nd kill. miss chaddy's the murderer for that kill. she's co-founder of the school and afraid the successor taking her school. finally the jewels had handed to the wife of the prince in the uk.
i have bought another agatha's book, the big four. i'm now watching it.

hk electronics fair
today is the last day of the fair and we got the ticket from one of my professors. we went to there after the lab. there was big, many things to see, but it's really not for the consumers. we saw some funny stuff. they are 2.4 GHz wireless speaker, and a 'fan' style LED display (they put LEDs on fan ~ no wind during turning, but the image can move even the LEDs' positions are changing). jimmy was there as a representative but i didn't notice. so i didn't find him.
then we took the ferry to tsim sha tsui. there are many foreigners which finished their jobs in the fair (i mean they are buyers) and take a look for the victoria harbour. after back on land, we played few rounds of electronic games before going back to school.
for the book: school nearly stopped functioning. julia found the jewels of the royal family. she felt danger and found the detective poirot to help her. head has chosen the successor. the french mistress was a bit strange.
