Second album form Sharon Corr is better than the first one as a whole.

Return of the Corrs is anticipated:

1. Andrea's accent has changed to be more Irish;
2. My favourite song is Catch Me When I Fail.

It is enough to keep the old fans exciting but that is hard to motivate others to join the range.

All of You by Colbie Caillat: simply motivated by few songs inside.

Let Them Talk by Hugh Laurie: obviously affected by House but his performing of Blues is good.

Latest two albums by Jason Mraz: Yes! should be the best among others. Love is a Four Letter Word should be the last physical album bought

All Cantonese albums from Robynn & Kendy: affected by girlfriend but really like soft songs

An Acoustic Evening with Jason Mraz & Raining Jane

What a wonderful night. just in time to catch airport express to asiaworld expo arena as the concert started quite early.

started by solo of raining jane but i think they are better with jason together. since we were sitting a bit far from the stage, it was sad that the display was not switched until jason came.

it was a surprise he sang many songs from previous albums. with raining jane, "lucky" was performed with even deeper emotions. and the greatest was during encore, everybody stood up and sang "i'm yours" (captures from different angles by 2 different fans as below) & "i won't give up".

eason's life concert

only bad thing is no encore...

all of you

summer time we need something simple, fresh, energetic and optimistic. the previous two albums i think the compilation of the songs are not very good, but this time is much better. but this album by colbie caillat can make you feel that. especially you cannot enjoy sunshine while others are staying under the sun & playing around.

let them talk

i still don’t have time to finish latest season finale of house md yet (spoiler: a main cast will not return!!!). but i have got another stuff by hugh laurie and keep playing & playing again.

that’s his debut album, let them talk. not only he sings, but also he plays piano. and there is a song featuring tom jones! anyway i think the blues make this summer much cooler!!!

btw i don't think there are many stocks left in major cd stores as they are directly imported from britain under normal price.

speak now

it should be the must buy album in this year. the songs extra in deluxe version are also worthy.

the favourite is speak now, the title song.

dream of you

a year after releasing of the first single, the album is finally here and the release date in hk is earlier than that in australia! the track listing is still the corrs’ style. it is a mixture of forgiven, not forgotten, their first album & vh1 presents: the corrs, live in dublin, their live album. there are twelve songs within which three are instrumental and two feature with other artists.

everybody’s got to learn sometime, the second single and also the cover version of the korgis, is quite odd when the music is passing to chorus thru headphones. but using speakers to play that part the feeling is much better.

it is good for mná na h’éireann to be instrumental as it is a bit controversy. and you can find the contribution from famous jeff beck.

maybe it’s a bit hard for her to sing smalltown boy in live every time as part of lyrics needs her to sing in very high pitch.

the arrangement for cooley's reel is same as that of other traditional songs presented together with her siblings.

my favourites include it’s not dream, so long ago, dream of you.

for die hard the corrs’ fan like me, this one should please us much more than the one sung by her sister andrea when we are still waiting the siblings to get back to work together.

non-mainstream choices

1. even riot on the empty street is not my best favourite (but i was really attached to misread), kings of convenience has attracted me anyway. so when declaration of dependence is out, it's already in my mind. my recommendations are: boat behind, rule my world.
   
   
2. fireflies really shine. ocean eyes is another album i feel i like in a whole. owl city makes it in well balanced. so there is no need for me to make any recommendation even though everywhere are fireflies.

   "love story” is a big hit & makes me interested. i also like “white horse” & “you belong to me”. Thx MTV for promotion when i was in singapore.

safe trip home

the album i think is awesome. i like all the tracks playing altogether. but maybe they are a bit weak when being played individually. actually they are quite dido-style but this time she played more instruments so the feeling is a bit changed. don't believe in love gives a strong start at all.

are they a bit too worry besides financial crisis? globally, there's a deluxe edition with three more songs (one more in itunes - sorry for hkers), four postcards, studio film (same as the one in her site). besides a separate site is made for promotion. locally a poster was given.

under the radar

the last one brought the star to the front by one song, bad day. this one shows a more synchronous one which nearly all songs are good. the style is united but it is a bit hard to find a song to have another big bang like bad day (of course the video of bad day helped a lot too). so can he get a good result under the radar?

next plane home

one of my favourites, daniel powter, has new single out. compared with previous hit singles, next plane home is a bit plain. bad day is the one to break the ice but it may not be everyone's taste. the style of next plane home should fit for more audiences instead. i really wanna hear other songs in the coming album, under the radar, asap.

so this fall season i should get two more on my desk, one the uk, another from canada.

finally time is fixed!

after many changes of her website, the target date of safe trip home is finally known. details are not much to know yet, but a free track is available for 2 weeks. 

"look no further" was known to fans for around a year and it is the first to let everyone listen. music is a bit simpler than that of previous songs. is that be the style of the album or how will they organize the album? we need to wait... anyway it's good to hear new stuff from dido and a date is fixed!

ipod nano 3rd gen update

latest 1.1.2 fixes some bugs as per apple description for ipod nano 3rd generation. the most important for me is making sound much louder! i think the power has been doubled. that means i need to reset volume control but i forgot the password. so i have reset whole machine completely.

and the sound quality has been improved to a level i think it is much more acceptable. i cannot listen obvious noise but it is still worse than 1st generation shuttle.

1. sheryl crow's love is free. it's so easy going.
   
   
2. latest album from jack johnson, sleep through the static. versus love is free or his last own album, in between dreams, it is a bit darker. but if you like in between dreams, you will still like it as change is not big to force people giving up (especially songs after "if i had eyes"). my favorites in this moment are "if i had eyes" and "hope".
   
   forgot to say a thing. why is the leaflet inside in german/dutch even it is printed locally?
   

eason's moving on stage 1

they gave fluorescent sticks instead of floated sticks which reduce the noise & stay bright in the stadium. but the fluorescent sticks are fragile...

the time for changing clothes is too long and the screens block the upper side of stage...

got them from hmv last sat after work. as said before, i don't think i need to think about glorious. for the one from james blunt. i think all songs are ok the album is great while i like carry you home most.

so damn bad that house ost is sold out in causeway bay hmv. i will check it out in central one later (out of stock in central & admiralty either...).

ten feet high

as a hardcore fan of the corrs, news for the solo album from andrea corr is attractive to me. even music company works so hard on promoting the album (from myspace to youtube), i think this album may not be as success as those corrs' albums.


the song style is different from working with her siblings, they are a bit sensitive to political. the first single, shame on you, is not the right one to be the single. other songs playing in acoustic in youtube suit more. that was just like waht they did for borrowed heaven (actually i think that also happened in avril's best damn thing). even they are produced by celebrated producer and executive produced by her friend bono, lyrics are too simple, you cannot believe that title is kept on repeating continuously.

it's may be wise for warner music hk that they don't promote the album at this moment.
