 What I like:

• Captain Rex Phase 2 armour
• Captain Rex's head showing chip removal
• printed panel

What I don't like

• no Galactic Republic/Empire logo (to show he is getting away?)
• too easy to detach rangefinder (even there are four provided but can be lost easily due to size & colour)

Lego #40262 & #40263 "Christmas Train Ride" & "Christmas Town Square"

The 2019 spring has come but it is not too late to review the 2017 Christmas lego promotion sets.

You can buy either one but obviously getting both is the best. If you must need to choose either one, Christmas Train Ride is the one you need as the Christmas tree in Christmas Town Square is not that attractive. Anyway they are the cheaper alternative of 10235 Winter Village Market. Winter Village Market is the one for large town while these two are for small town.

Lego Star Wars #75168 Yoda's Jedi Starfighter™

The third Lego Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor I have now. We should be grateful for this release as Star Wars: the Clone Wars has ended for years.



Same as Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter released in last year there is no slot to hold Yoda's lightsaber. But the lightsaber can be kept safely inside the cockput which is much better than Obi-Wan's one.



It is cool to have foil-wings & cannons to increase playability. Another nice feature is only few stickers are used for needed areas. The cockpit is rightly designed to hold Yoda and R2 sits comfortly compared to its master's one.



But it is hard for lego to resemble the fighter completely in such scale. The wings are too big when comparing the size of the cockpit. In the Clone Wars, the cockpit is round but that would not make bricks stick well. An oval version is the final solution.

lego star wars #75038 jedi™ interceptor

It has a different design from Obi-wan's one, from wings, droid socket to even the cockpit, even the major layout remains the same. Obi-wan's one has more details on wings but much more stickers. A open-ended droid socket makes R2 not easily removed by buzz droid.



The best of this set against his master's one is there is space to hold lightsaber!

What will Yoda's one be as available in next year?

lego star wars #75135 Obi-Wan's jedi starfighter

This should be the only set so far Lego solely built for Obi-Wan's Eta-2 Starfighter.

It is cool to have a new Obi-Wan with a headset. The wings are nicely built to provide the rigid structure and also weight to play nicely. Even R4-P17 can be fit nicely compared to the previous build. Some older one can only put the head on the wing while later run can only leave the legs of R2-D2 hanging. Higher R4 can also fulfill what the movie shows which it was destroyed by buzz droids.

The cockpit is a bit disappointing. Obi-Wan cannot sit straightly. There is no proper place to hold his lightsaber. That's such a shame. The worse thing should be the amount of stickers used. Why does Lego really like stickers but the size cannot fully fit the brick?

lego star wars #75136 droid escape droid

This is one of the sets with both C-3PO and R2-D2. It should be the one most following the storyline which both droids are captured by Jawas.

Compared to previous 2 sets, this set is with most details. The engines rotable and the case can be opened. There are two different printings on the Jawas. And also a printed death star. But there are a lot of stickers which need skills to stick. Especially to make the stickers of the case in sync and also stick the panel correctly in a small piece of lego.

lego star wars #75088 senate commando troopers

What makes this so attractive to me to buy?

Figures are rare. Previously there were only two sets with senate commandos and only one of those contains the captain.

New design of guns allows real shooting. The design is nice except the one for the captain which simply makes it a bit longer. It is one of the sets to collect extra bricks.

The use of Technic bricks can allow the cannon to rotate easily and more playable.

The only drawback is no printed bricks except the figures. That should be better to be a printed control panel of the cannon and an emblem of the Galactic Republic.

• many rare parts for me

• blade is too huge, not in scale

lego star wars #75076 republic gunship

gunship in minifig size is too big for me to keep. that's very good for lego to make a micro size with a minifig (even i want a jedi / clone captain/commander).

there is no cons in my mind. it comes with no stickers (even for galactic republic logo). i love to have more phase 1 clone troopers. it accurately represent the key features of the ship & it can shoot missiles too. and there are many spare parts left.

• stickers which are hard to paste correctly
• ear protection cannot work at all
• cabin is not well protected. there are gaps front the back

pros:

• stickers
• the cover of the bin is too long
• no idea where to put the extinguisher in the motorbike

lego city #60015 coast guard plane

pros:

• the boat is in details. especially the engine of the boat & the plane. also the roof of boat
• the boat can float
• lego fishes
• the printed brick as plane control

cons:

• too many one piece items especially for the plane. there is no door on the plane to let pilot go in & out. only one piece item i like is the boat hull
• stickers are devils when they cannot make the expected painting of the plane
• scale of the plane is a bit abnormal
• too much internal structure for the plane such that no more space besides driving seat

lego city #60020 cargo truck

pros:

• the outlook of cargo truck and forklift truck is full of details
• nice design to open the side panel.

cons:

• too many stickers
• using a rubber to control the forklift may not be good. the rubber may be broken after ages and the forklift cannot be raised again.
• the layout inside the cargo truck is not realistic 
• roof of cargo truck is not sealed due to the hedges like the ambulance

lego lord of the rings #79006 the council of elrond

pros:

• sticker as eye of sauron to protect the brick is a good idea
• rare elrond & arwen
• rare weapons
• nice colours chosen
• structure of tree is better than city house
• not just one ring only!

cons:

• stickers but not many
• scene is too small making everything is too close
• not include the whole fellowship of the ring

• much technic stuff to build the structure & playable functions similar to palpatine's arrest.

pros:

• design with details from speeder to nearly everything
• many golden bricks including microfigures!
• many characters! mace windu, anakin, palpatine & more
• many playable functions
• can be used in various scenes if those involve chancellor's office

cons:

• stickers but not many
• parts are not firm enough including entrance & roof of windows behind chancellor's seat
• too many dark bricks which are a bit hard to distinguish in the manual

P.S.

• much technic stuff to build the structure & playable functions
• the base of the office makes me feel like a plane at first!
